Walt Lindberg teaches elementary band and orchestra in Anne Arundel County Public Schools (Maryland). He is a National Board Certified Teacher and has earned degrees in music education from the Peabody Institute and Millersville University. Originally from central Pennsylvania, Mr. Lindberg taught elementary and high school music in Schuylkill County before moving to Maryland in 2006. He has presented numerous professional development sessions and workshops at state, regional, and national NAfME conferences. His sessions focus on teaching jazz, composition, and improvisation in elementary ensembles.

Mr. Lindberg’s writing on creativity in the teaching and learning process has appeared in Maryland Music Educator, Teaching Music, and NFHS Music Association Journal. He has served as a student intern mentor teacher and coached colleagues pursuing National Board Certification. In addition to teaching, Mr. Lindberg serves as music minister of First Baptist Church of Crofton and has recorded an album of original solo guitar arrangements of Christmas carols. He lives with his wife and two children in Crofton, Maryland.
