Begin Fireside Chats for NAfME Members

Inspired by President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s radio broadcasts between March 1933 and June 1944, NAfME President Denese Odegaard will be launching her own series of Fireside Chats for NAfME members. Once a month, President Odegaard will be addressing various topics in the world of music education with a special guest. Themes will vary from songwriting to diversity in music, from vocal jazz to working with collegiate students, and more.
President Odegaard’s first Fireside Chat will take place on Tuesday, February 6th, from 8:00-9:00 PM EST. Focusing on the various aspects of songwriting, she will be joined by Ben Wright of Bluegrass Ambassadors. Bluegrass Ambassadors is the non-profit arm of the Chicago-based bluegrass band Henhouse Prowlers, whose mission is to educate and inspire through cultural exchange. Bluegrass Ambassadors provides unique educational programming that blends global folk music traditions with cultural awareness and understanding.
