Ben Reyes, Senior Manager of Member Programs for the National Association for Music Education, is an eastern North Carolina native and joins the team with a varied background in music education. After serving as a high school and middle school band director, Ben’s most recent appointment was that of Academic Advisor for the East Carolina University School of Music where he advised over 200 music majors across multiple programs.

His prior roles involved the operation, recruitment, and retention of various programs including marching band, concert band, percussion ensemble, and beginning band. Ben has served as the director of the ECU Concert Band and taught college preparation courses for first-year college students during his tenure as advisor. Throughout his graduate studies, Ben assisted with the operations of ECU’s athletics band, including the 200+ member ECU Marching Pirates and ECU Basketball Pep Band. He brings his varied experience in music education to the membership team to explore new and exciting initiatives and benefits for current and future members.

A musician at heart, Ben enjoys attending concerts of all genres with his partner. He’s an avid video gamer, food enthusiast, and is always looking forward to traveling to new places.
