Elizabeth W. Lasko is the Assistant Executive Director for Membership, Organizational Development, and Marketing Communications at the National Association for Music Education. In this role she oversees membership campaigns, programs, and services, provides support for the leaders of NAfME’s affiliated music education associations, and directs marketing and communications initiatives.

Elizabeth has played key roles in the conception, production, and promotion of NAfME projects including the award-winning Why Music? radio PSA series; the National Anthem Project advocacy campaign; the launch of Steven Van Zandt’s History of Rock & Roll curriculum; the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band; the MusicFriends advocacy campaign with Potbelly Sandwich Works; and the distribution of $1 million to school music programs in partnership with the hit TV Show Glee. She also oversaw the 2011-2012 association name change from MENC to NAfME.

She was previously Vice President of Marketing and Communications at The Monitoring Association, the trade association representing alarm monitoring companies, where she worked to raise awareness of the industry’s contribution to public safety and collaborated with police, fire, and emergency organizations on initiatives to improve alarm response.

Elizabeth received a Bacheor of Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Richmond and holds the Certified Association Executive credential from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). She is active in the association world as a judge for other organizations’ professional awards programs, particularly the Association of School Business Officials’ annual awards to honor school district Chief Financial Officers. A true believer in the power of music, she enjoys singing and playing piano and guitar with her husband, family and friends.
