Kimberly Justen has been a freelance writer and editor for over 30 years, and is an international Amazon bestselling author. Throughout her career, she has written for multiple Fortune 50 companies including Lowe’s Home Improvement, Hanes, and JPMorgan Chase. She is currently the editor and graphic designer for the North Carolina Music Educator, the North Carolina Music Educators Association professional journal, a role she has held for over ten years.

Ms. Justen holds a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from San Jose State University, where she played French horn in the marching band. She began playing French horn as a junior in high school, when she was told that if she continued spending all her time with the band, she should join. With six weeks to auditions, she practiced in all her free time, and found her place in her high school concert band. She continues to play today, and believes there is a place for everyone in a music classroom.
