President’s FY15 Budget Reduces Support for the NEA

Earlier in March the Obama Administration released its proposed FY 2015 Budget to Congress. Whereas the past two years the administration proposed $154 million for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), this year the funding proposal dropped to $146 million.

The next steps in the budget process are proposals from the House and Senate. Appropriations subcommittees currently have several hearings scheduled.

NAfME is once again cosponsoring the March 25 National Arts Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C., which will bring together grassroots advocates from around the nation.
