Recruiting Music Program Leaders to Participate in Survey

Hello! Music Program Leaders:

I am e-mailing you to ask for your help in recruiting school administrators in arts and music education to participate in a Leadership Survey developed by Dee Hansen and Angela Griffin through The Hartt School, University of Hartford. With the many changes taking place in our schools today, strong arts leaders are essential to preserving our music and arts programs. This survey will help us identify areas of need in terms of professional development and support from NAfME. The survey includes six areas of focus:

• Transitions from Teacher to Supervisor                  • Climate/Work Environment
• Leadership Experiences                                            • Curriculum and Assessment
• Input to District and Building Administration        • Teacher Evaluation

Please find below the link to Survey Monkey. In order to access the survey, please read the informed consent first. If you are in agreement with the consent form, click on the radial dial. The survey will then be made available to you. If you prefer to take the survey in hard copy, please contact Dee Hansen at dhansen2@mindspring.com and she will send it to you with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. All of the responses are anonymous.

This survey will remain active through December 1, 2013. Survey link:

Please feel free to share this information with others.
