Call for Papers, Panel Discussions, and Performances:
St. Augustine Symposium on the History of Music Education
May 28–31, 2014, Flagler College, St. Augustine, Florida
The Symposium Planning Committee of the St. Augustine Symposium on the History of Music Education welcomes submissions on topics related in any way to the history of music teaching and learning:
- Scholarly papers suitable for reading (submit complete paper and an abstract of no more than 200 words)
- Panel discussions (outline with names of participants)
- Performances (musical content, names of performers, and any equipment needs).
Materials must be submitted electronically in any standard style format. Include the following information in the body of the electronic mail message: Name, address, telephone, affiliation, email address for further communication, and title of the paper or proposal. Send submissions to Dr. William Lee (William-Lee@utc.edu), Chair of the Review Panel.
Complete papers and proposals for other presentations must be received no later than 11:59 p.m., February 24, 2014. Acknowledgement (by February 25) and notification (by March 24) will be sent via return email.
The St. Augustine Symposium on the History of Music Education is being organized and sponsored by the History Special Research Interest Group of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and Flagler College. The Symposium Planning Committee is planning several activities of interest for symposium attendees, including keynote speakers, scholarly papers, panels, concerts, and local attractions.
