Thank You Teachers Campaign
Students across America Sing “Thank You Teachers” with Donald Gee
and Grammy Nominated Kendrick Dean
NAfME associate member Donald Gee (Georgia Tech Undergrad Student) wrote the song “Thank You Teachers” for his favorite educator (his mom) and all the other teachers who make such a difference in people’s lives. The song was picked up and improved by Kendrick Dean, seven-time Grammy nominated producer who was a high school history teacher before becoming a music producer.
After collaborating with the American Choir Directors Association, National Association for Music Education, Atlanta Public Schools, and Heartland Youth Choir and a retweet from Grammy winning Choir Director Eric Whitacre, more than 100 students joined together to create a virtual choir singing “Thank You Teachers” for Teacher Appreciation Day 2021!
