A "Wild" Night for the NAfME In-Service Conference in Nashville

More than 400 NAfME members found their way to the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville on Monday night, October 28, for the highly anticipated Give a Note Foundation Extravaganza.

The event was, by all standards, an outstanding success, with more than $4,000.00 raised for the foundation in a raffle that was held for a Gibson guitar and a trip to one of several cities throughout the country.

Once inside the front doors, many of the music educators, who were in Nashville for the 2013 NAfME National In-Service Conference, made their way straight to the dance floor, eager to try their hand at line-dancing while live country bands performed high on a stage above them.

The party included a tasty food buffet

Country recording artist Sarah Darling was in attendance as the official “hostess” of the Give a Note Extravaganza, and cowboy hats bearing the Give a Note logo were seen in abundance throughout the crowded venue.

Hang on. It’s deceptively slow.

Close by, a mechanical bull gave the brave a chance to harken back to the days of “Urban Cowboy” and those who hung on long enough were treated to a few extra exciting spins and turns than they might have anticipated. Cheers of encouragement came from those standing near by and those seated at tables where a wide assortment of food and drinks were available for the hungry.

Shari and Glenn Niermann, NAfME President-Elect enjoyed the party.
