2024 Call for Nominations: NAfME Senior Researcher Award

Every two years, the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), in collaboration with the Society for Research in Music Education, awards the Senior Researcher Award to recognize a researcher for an outstanding, significant, and long-term record of achievement in music education research. This award is the organization’s premier acknowledgement of an individual’s valuable and sustained contributions to research and scholarship in the field.

To nominate an outstanding senior researcher, please provide the following in one PDF document:

(1) the name, address, phone number, email, and affiliation of the nominee;

(2) a formal nomination letter (including a statement that the researcher has accepted the nomination);

(3) three to five letters of recommendation from persons in a position to comment on the nominee’s research and scholarly contributions and achievements; and

(4) the nominee’s curriculum vitae.

All nominations must be submitted electronically with the subject: 2024 Senior Researcher Award Nomination. Please name the file: SrResNomLastname. Submit your nomination packet to John Donaldson (johnd@nafme.org) by March 13, 2024.

The 2024 NAfME Senior Researcher Awardee will be honored at the NAfME Biennial Music Research and Teacher Education Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, September 25–28, 2024, where they will give an address that will subsequently be published in the Journal of Research in Music Education.
