This webinar is for any instrumental educator who wants to review pedagogical concepts on the clarinet with a professional clarinetist and teacher, specifically working on quality tone across all registers and articulation techniques adaptable for all ages. Participants will leave with concrete ideas to use with their students and materials they can give out in class to implement techniques.
Megan Williams serves as a woodwind specialist at Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and works as a clinician for 11 Metro-Atlanta band programs. She runs a successful private studio of 30–40 students, many of whom have earned spots in Georgia All-State Bands, national honor ensembles, and top music schools like Florida State, Berklee, and Northwestern. She performs regularly and has presented at several conferences, and from 2020–2023, she taught nearly 500 students internationally through Outschool. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from the University of Georgia, where she was a Drum Major of the Redcoat Marching Band. A former band director in Decatur and Gwinnett, she now serves as Executive Director of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony and the Georgia Music Educators Association’s Community Engagement Coordinator.
