Damian Johnson has been the Director of Bands at Eudora Middle and High School in Eudora, KS for the past 10 years. Prior to that, Mr. Johnson taught in Hiawatha, KS for 12 years and at Southwest Charter School in Kansas City, MO for 2 ½ years.  Mr. Johnson received his BME from Washburn University in 1999 and his MaED from Baker University in 2006. Mr. Johnson has served as a clinician and adjudicator for bands across the Midwest. Mr. Johnson received the Teacher of the Year Award for Hiawatha USD 415 in 2005, the KMEA Northeast District High School Teacher of the Year in 2010, and the Teacher of the Year Eudora USD 491 in 2022.

Mr. Johnson is a member of NAfME, Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA), Kansas Bandmasters Association (KBA), Phi Beta Mu, and National Education Association (NEA). Mr. Johnson served as the 1234A Kansas All-State Band Chairperson in 2014 & 2015 and is a Past President of KBA. Currently, Mr. Johnson is the Vice President of Northeast KMEA and President-Elect of KMEA.  Mr. Johnson resides in Eudora, KS with his wife, Brandi, and their three children, LeAnne, Jada and Nia.
