Estela Torres Guernsey received her Bachelor of Music Education with a minor in Spanish in 2018 from the University of Wyoming, and her Master of Music Education with a Certificate in Orff Schulwerk from the University of Kentucky in December 2023. She currently teaches Kindergarten–6th grade general music and 5th-6th grade instrumental music at Paintbrush Elementary School and the Assistant Director of the Campbell County High School Marching Band in Gillette, Wyoming. Guernsey received the Outstanding Young Music Educator Award for the state of Wyoming in 2021, and was the Wyoming recipient for the “50 Directors Who Make A Difference” recognition in School Band & Orchestra Magazine in 2023. She serves as the Elementary Vice President on the Wyoming Music Educators Association executive board, where she strives to represent elementary music’s diverse needs, as well as help program relevant and engaging professional development for the organization. Guernsey finds joy in helping students discover the magic and sense of accomplishment that comes from making music together in community, and hopes to inspire her students to keep music a part of their lives, always.
