Dr. Jason D. Jones is an Assistant Professor of Music Education at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate music education courses. His courses have received endorsements in Bilingual Flexible Pedagogy and Contextualized Sociolinguistic Practice from UTRGV’s B3 Institute. Jones is also President-Elect for the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association, the chair of the TMEA’s collegiate division IDEA committee, and an early childhood music and movement specialist at the Brownsville Piano Studio. He earned a Ph.D. in music education from the Eastman School of Music, an M. M. from the University of Texas San Antonio, an M.Ed. from Emory & Henry University, and a B.A. degree in Vocal Music Education and French from Emory & Henry University. Jones has certifications in Kodály from OAKE and Eurhythmics from the American Eurhythmics Society. He is an active presenter at local, state, regional, national, and international conferences on various topics, including Eurhythmics, musicians with differences and disabilities, and Translanguage pedagogy. His scholarly works include articles in the Journal of General Music Education,  School Music News, The Orff Echo, the American Eurhythmics Society, and the International Journal of Music in Early Childhood; and chapters in  Kaleidoscope: A Collection of Standards-Based Lessons for the K–7 General Music Classroom, Teaching Music to Students with Differences and Disabilities: A Practical Resource, and Towards Equity in School Music.
