Jessica Fiedorowicz has been the Director of Orchestras at South Haven Public Schools in South Haven, MI
for 23 years. During her tenure, participation in the orchestra program has almost quadrupled and reaches a
diverse population of students. In 2017-2018, South Haven’s music department began a chapter of the Tri-M
Music Honor Society to further develop the musicianship, service, and leadership skills of their students. Mrs.
Fiedorowicz is the Chapter Advisor for the Junior chapter at Baseline Middle School. The Baseline Middle
School Chapter was awarded the National Chapter of the Year award for the 2022-2023 school year and had
been previously recognized as a 2 time runner-up for that honor.

She has a long association with Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, starting there as a counselor in 2000, and
spending more than a decade on the conducting faculty, primarily working with the youngest campers at Blue
Lake.

Mrs. Fiedorowicz has served as the SHPS Music Department Chair since 2007, and in 2017, accepted the
additional position of Team Based Teacher Leader for Fine and Applied Arts for the district. Her mission for her
work with other faculty members and district administration is to ensure access to the arts for all students. The
collaborative working relationship within the music department is one that has extended opportunities for all
music students. This includes a collaboration with the SHHS marching band that allows interested string
students to participate in the front ensemble and colorguard and allows interested wind and percussion
students to participate in full orchestra. (2023)
