NAfME's Halle Dinkle Heads Back to School

Just in time for band practice, school bells, and seating charts, Tom Batiuk, creator of the comic feature Funky Winkerbean, debuts a new Halle Dinkle comic strip.  Batiuk, a former middle school teacher, is such a fan of music education that he created the comic strip Halle Dinkle  just for members of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).

Funky Winkerbean made its debut on the comics pages 42 years ago, and today appears in more than 400 newspapers worldwide. Batiuk chronicled the lives of students and faculty at Westview High, including the Harry L. Dinkle character, who once  declared himself the “World’s Greatest Band Leader.” Halle is Harry’s daughter, and the comics chronicle the trials and triumphs of a general music teacher.
