New Jazz and Show Choir Adjudication Forms Available

Are you involved with show choir or jazz ensemble festivals at the local or regional levels?

MENC, in partnership with The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and Disney Performing Arts, is offering education and resources to improve the assessment and adjudication of musical performance groups. The initiative, known collectively as the National Music Adjudication Coalition (NMAC), is now providing online forms free of charge for jazz and show choir adjudicators. These materials were developed with the assistance of jazz experts

  • Willie Hill Jr. (University of Massachusetts-Amherst)
  • Steve Zegree (Western Michigan University)
  • Gregory Yasinitsky (Washington State University)
  • David Greennagel (Virginia Commonwealth University)
  • and Show Choir experts FAME Events.

“MENC is excited to play an integral part in this effort to improve the assessment and adjudication of musical performance groups,” says Hill. “We hope that the National Music Adjudication Coalition’s (NMAC) adjudication seminars and adjudication forms will help better prepare our nation’s music adjudicators while offering a national forum to bring them together to share the best practices from their part of the country.”

Find the adjudication forms on the NMAC page.
