Happy 40th anniversary of Music In Our Schools Month® (MIOSM®)! To celebrate this milestone this year’s theme is “United Through Music,” representing how music has the power to bring individuals together. MIOSM is a national event to celebrate and raise awareness around the importance of music education for all students—and to remind citizens that school is where all students should have access to music. Music educators from across the country use MIOSM as a platform to bring the attention of students, families, local community members, and state and local elected officials to their school’s music program and the benefits that music provides to students of all ages.
