Keep Pace with the U.S. Visa and Tax Process — August 2025

Partnerships with musicians from across the globe are essential to artistry in communities across the country. With processing times longer and scrutiny at borders stricter, visa and tax withholding preparations for international guest artists require careful attention to detail. The League of American Orchestras maintains the Artists from Abroad website that provides essential tips and templates for seeking an O or P guest artist visa. The website does not take the place of formal legal guidance but is designed to help navigate the visa and tax withholding requirements and better understand where to obtain required elements such as labor consultations. The news section is also regularly updated to provide an overview of changes in policy or forms that may of particular relevance for performing artists.
