Division President-Elect Candidate Qualifications

  • A candidate for Division President-Elect must embody a demonstrated commitment to music education and a capacity to lead which empowers the identities of all involved.
  • A candidate for Division President-Elect must be an Active or Life Member of NAfME and, if elected, must maintain such membership throughout the duration of their elected term.
  • A candidate for Division President-Elect should be an effective communicator, demonstrating timely, clear, concise, and articulate communication.
  • A candidate for Division President-Elect should demonstrate proven leadership and a track record of effectively leading others.
  • A candidate for Division President-Elect should demonstrate a commitment to servant leadership, prioritizing the needs of members and the profession.
  • A candidate for Division President-Elect should demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA).
  • A candidate for Division President-Elect should possess advocacy and policy expertise or experience, with an understanding of issues affecting music education.
  • A candidate for Division President-Elect should have a vision for advancing the profession, including an understanding of current and emerging issues affecting music education.
  • A candidate for Division President-Elect should demonstrate a sound educational philosophy.
  • A candidate for Division President-Elect should understand the unique issues and challenges facing the Division.
