About the Event
The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) is pleased to support the Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) as a partner in furthering guitar education in the United States, along with this event’s primary sponsor the Augustine Foundation. Members of the NAfME Council for Guitar Education will join on the call.
Join us and the Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) for a moderated discussion on the state of guitar in U.S. higher education. All teachers and administrators in higher education who offer guitar instruction are welcome, as well as all interested parties.
Facilitated by Brian Head (Artistic Director of the GFA and Associate Dean of Curriculum at USC’s Thornton School of Music) and Martha Masters (President of the GFA and Assistant Professor at Arizona State University), the Summit will explore innovative and flexible strategies for evolving college, university, and conservatory programs to respond to today’s market.
Our experienced panel of educators are leaders of successful and modern programs at all levels, from community college to conservatory, private colleges to state universities. Their stories will be the catalyst for an important exchange of ideas between all participants as they share their successes and challenges, and we ask to hear yours.
If you are involved with the guitar in higher education, don’t miss this chance to participate in this timely discussion, and go home with strategies to future-proof your program.
Advance registration is required for the Summit. All registrants will be entered in a drawing to win free registration to 2024 GFA Convention and Competitions in Fullerton, CA!
