An individual membership open to full-time teachers and faculty (most music educators fit into this category). Active members receive all benefits provided by both the National Association for Music Education, and your selected federated state music educators association.
An individual membership specially designed for college students. Receive specific benefits provided by both the National Association for Music Education, and your selected federated state music educators association.
An individual membership open to those in their first year of full-time music teaching or other music-related education work who have been collegiate members during the preceding fiscal year.
An individual membership open to former full-time music educators. Retired members receive all benefits provided by both the National Association for Music Education, and your selected federated state music educators association.
An individual membership open to music education assistants, private teachers, seasoned performers, and others interested in supporting quality music education. Those who are primarily engaged in music teaching do not qualify for this category. Federated state music educators association benefits are not included in this category.
This includes companies and organizations that offer music-related products and services, support school music, and serve the music community. NAfME Corporate Membership offers the opportunity to advance arts and music education, and to connect with PreK-12 music teachers, supervisors, teacher educators, students, and the music education community. Be an Advocate
NAfME advocates at the federal, state, and local levels, and has supported music educators and students for more than a century. Stay informed with the Advocacy Bulletin and use our Grassroots Action Center to learn more on how you can become and advocate for music education.
With a national conference and state level professional development events and networking opportunities you will have access to progressive teaching methods. Take part in quarterly advocacy webinars to stay up to date on our advocacy efforts.

Through an agreement with ASCAP and BMI, NAfME- or State MEA-sponsored groups are granted performance rights of music managed by these organizations. (This covers only performances sponsored by NAfME or federated state associations of NAfME.)
Under U.S. Copyright law, recordings of student performances must be properly licensed. If members wish to record their students’ performance of any work, permission must be obtained through RightsFlow or the Harry Fox Agency.
