Next Monday, January 11, the U.S. Department of Education will hold the first of two stakeholder meetings, soliciting advice and recommendations from interested parties, on the implementation and operation of programs under Title I, as States and LEAs begin the transition from NCLB to ESSA (a second stakeholder meeting will take place on January 19th, in Los Angeles).

NAfME has prepared a list of non-regulatory guidance requests for the Department. Senior Regulatory Policy Advisor Lynn Tuttle will be on hand next week to offer NAfME ESSA Non-Reg Guidance and Reporting Requests as public comments during the stakeholder meeting (which will also be officially submitted). The meeting begins at 9 AM on Monday. If interested, a livestream of the full meeting will be available here.

Should you wish to comment further, comments are open to the public. The full notice and comment portal is available through the Federal Register, here. The deadline to submit comments is January 21.

If you have not yet reviewed our comprehensive analysis of the law and/or implementation guide, both are available on our Everything ESSA Page.  We hope you can make the webcast!
