All-National Honor Ensembles

Over the last two years, the NAfME National Executive Board conducted an extensive analysis of NAfME’s programming and large-scale conferences. As part of that process, the NAfME National Executive Board has reviewed and discussed the financial sustainability and inherent challenges to equity and access that are intrinsic to the All-National Honor Ensembles (ANHE) experience and the association’s mission and vision. At this time, there is no timeline or plan to revive the ANHE program. Additionally, NAfME has no current plans to resume large-scale in-person PreK-12 conferences.

In efforts to most impactfully reach the maximum number of music educators, NAfME will continue to support ongoing professional learning opportunities through the NAfME Learning Center (including the NAfME Academy, which consists of over 100 recorded webinars and is a member benefit) and via regular offerings of the NAfME Societies and Councils and NAfME Professional Learning and Partnerships Committee.

NAfME also encourage music educators to access the webpages of NAfME state affiliate organizations for more information on their selection of annual in-person professional learning offerings.

The goals embedded in the new NAfME Strategic Plan intentionally move the association toward realizing what it means to be inclusive. We invite you to learn more about NAfME's mission, vision, and beliefs, and the Strategic Plan centered around Equity in Music Education in Advocacy and Public Policy, Professional Learning and Growth, and Research and Music Teacher Education. The NAfME board regularly considers the benefits and programming offered by the Association, in efforts to best serve the evolving needs of the music education community.
