Give a Note Foundation Celebrates Giving Tuesday with
12 Days of Giving Thanks
Give a Note Challenges Partners to Raise $10,000 for Music Education Programs
RESTON, Va. (November 24, 2015) – As the #GivingTuesday global day of giving enters its fourth year of observance, the Give a Note Foundation is taking a look back at its first four years of supporting and strengthening music education programs to ensure that all children have access to the life-changing benefits of music study. From November 20 to December 1, Giving Tuesday, Give a Note Foundation is celebrating with “Twelve Days of Giving Thanks” to our supporters and partners.
“With the help of our partners and supporters, we have accomplished great things on behalf of music education in the four years since our founding in 2011,” said Beth Slusher, Give a Note President and Board Chair. “Give a Note Foundation has provided more than $1.2 million in grants to more than 100 schools in 35 states, and made a difference in the lives of more than 40,000 students. Through our national Music In Our Schools Tours, we brought communities together with music and effectively demonstrated that school music programs provide life-changing experiences.”
On social media (Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook), Give a Note has been sharing highlights and milestones that have taken place over the past four years, using the hashtags #igiveanote and #GivingTuesday. Partners and past supporters have been asked to help spread the word in their social media circles as well, with the goal of raising $10,000 by December 1. Donors are also invited to make a donation in honor of a teacher who made a difference in their life.
With new initiatives announced this fall by the CMA Foundation for music education research and Radio Disney for the third Music In Our Schools Tour, 2016 will be the most successful year yet as supporters donate and spread the word about Give a Note Foundation’s work in support of music programs around the nation.
